New Job

Well, I started training for my new job yesterday. As some of you may know, I have been hired by the campus police as a dispatcher. A dispatcher isnt what I expected, in the Fire Department, the dispatchers just sat a a desk in an office and dispatched trucks to calls. In a sense, that is what I will do, but I also get to sit at the front gate in the guard shack and check people as they come in. It will be a enjoyable job as I will get to know many of the residents here on campus. I also beging orientation and registration this thursday and friday. I am somewhat nervous about starting school again. It has been a long time since I was in school, but I know that God will grant me wisdom and power to learn, honor, and glorify His name.

Weekend Update

Well, this past weekend was a great one...Mom and Phoo-Phoo came down to spend a few days with us and the kids. They were down from Wednesday till Sunday evening. We had a great time.. Its always fun when people come visit us because it gives us an excuse to be tourists in New Orleans. So, we went to the zoo on thursday, the zoo is always a fun place to visit, unless its 200 degrees outside. That is what it felt like anyway, it was way to hot to go to the zoo and pull around a wagon full of groceries and the boys. The zoo was fun even though it was hot, we didnt stay long, but at least Garrett got to see the dinasaour exhibit that he has been begging for so long to go see. On to saturday, today was interesting...we were outside playing on the playground and a small thunderstorm blew up..and if anyone knows the boys real well, they are extremely scared of thunder. Well, it thundered hard one time and everyone ran for cover and up the stairs to the house. The adults were behind all the kids and we got half way up the stairs and heard the door slam and a screaching scream from Riley, we could only imagine what had happened, all we could hear was riley screaming and crying and the others yelling about all the blood. We ran up the stairs to find Riley on the floor crying, blood everywhere, and everyone kinda freaking out.. Well, the door got slammed on his toe, lifting his toenail off the nail bed, and bending it in half...So, thinking that the doctor might pull it off for it to heal better, we went to New Orleans urgent care, not having insurance, it was a bit pricey. So, we paid the doctor to tell us to keep it clean and bandaged up, but it calmed our nerves down. Saturday ended with us cooking a big pot of gumbo, and just sitting at the house hanging out. Sunday rolls around and mom stayed home with the boys while the others went to church, church was great. So finally it came time for mom and phoo to leave. I decided to ride to Jackson with them and meet dad to get my Xterra from him. Riley also decided he wanted to go, so we loaded up and headed north. We got just to the other side of New Orleans and Riley began complaining of a headache, which he complained the whole way to jackson, other than when he was asleep. We finally got to Jackson Cracker Barrell to meet dad and eat, and Riley said he wasnt feeling good, so I got him out of the truck, changed his pull up (which had leaked) and all of a sudden, BBBLLLAAAHHH, he threw up on himself and I. POOR RILEY, he had a rough two days, not really sure what was wrong with him, but after some rocking on the front porch of Cracker Barrell, he felt good enough to ride home...with mamaw and papaw and phoo phoo that is....So, Riley is back at mamaw's to be pampered and loved on by his grandparents..I hope he is feeling better..

Home

Well, we made it home about 11:00 last night. It is nice to be back home and sleep in our bed. Today the boys began preschool, they were very excited about going to school. When we took them, they just walked into their rooms and began playing. I wish they were in the same room, but it is probably better for them to be in seperate rooms for their maturity growth, but from a Dad's point of view, they should be together. I cried, I'm not sure if Tracy cried or not, but either way, it is very, very quiet here at the house now. I guess that we can get more things d0ne before I start school. It was very nice to visit home, I do believe the best part of visiting was seeing Mrs. Dottie get surprised when the boys came into the nursery at church, she had no clue that they were coming to church. It was nice to see everyone from our church also, we love them so very much. Our church is SO supportive of us, and you do not know how much it means to know that we have a loving family of believers praying, and supporting us. Hopefully we will be back soon, we were told that there might be a buyer for our home. That would be such a blessing to us, as we are struggling to pay our house note and rent. GOD WILL PROVIDE FOR HIS CHILDREN!!
