Visitin Home...

Well, we made it home for the weekend. Tracy, and the boys and I arrived Thursday evening. We moved our portable home (camper) to mom and dads yard and set up our abode... As of today, I am no longer employed with the Monroe Fire Department. I terminated my position today with somewhat regrets, but knowing GOD is in conrtol. I will surely miss the fire department but cannot wait to begin my new job and start classes. I have been hired by the Campus Police as a dispatcher. I guess it will work, at least I get to wear a uniform. I start orientation thursday and register for classes Friday. I begin my new job next monday, and also begin classes the same day, it is bound to be an interesting day. We have a lot to do at our home in Athens, we will be mowing and cleaning the yard this weekend. Also, for all of our family at Emmanuel, we will be there Sunday morning for church....Soli Deo Gloria...

My Birthday Weekend

We had a great weekend here in New Orleans. Ben's parents came down for his birthday bringing Riley and Owen back home to us from their visit with them. Ben, his parents and Cody did some fishing and we celebrated Ben's birthday with an evening on the town with Ben's parents and our friends Cody and Christina. We had dinner at VooDoo BBQ which is out of this world! Then we had reservations at the Melting Pot for dessert!!! It was tons of fun and a little crazy with toddlers...But everyone had a blast! CHOCOLATE DIPPED EVERYTHING!!! How much better can you get!!! This is from Tracy's facebook account..

I had a great birthday weekend, as most of you know, I have found my favorite spot here in New Orleans, being on the water. I have found a love for fishing down here, and also love the time spent with Garrett, we have had some great memories made already, I cannot wait to take the rest of the family.. I have really been struggling lately with the move to New Orleans, I love the friends we have and have made, I cannot see a fire truck without missing my guys at the station. For almost nine years, firefighting was my life. We were in the store today and some of the NO firefighters was in there shopping, it brought back so many memories, I never thought I would be on this side of the uniform. The awesome thing, our God is Sovreign, and I KNOW that He controlls all aspect of His elect. He has placed those innermost wants and desires inside of us for a reason, to GLORIFY HIM.. I cannot wait for August 13, the day classes start, I believe it will take my mind off of all the things that were life back home. I still havent heard anything from my job application with the Campus Police. Please be in prayer about that with me. Thank you to everyone who reads this and posts comments, it is such a blessing to read the comments and know that others are thinking about us and praying for my family. I love each and every one of you, and pray that the Lord blesses you and your family as much as He has blessed ours......SOLI DEO GLORIA!!!!!!

Well, we went down to the french quarter this evening to have an evening with the big kids..We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. The food was good and the fellowship unforgettable. We walked around for a while and ended up at Cafe Du Monde and ate some famous beignets..while we were eating our french donuts, on the park bench across from us were two young ladies...They looked like hippies, were chain smoking with others, and drinking whiskey straight from the bottle. As I watched them, I couldnt help but think about their parents somewhere, I wandered if they were loved and missed by their parents, I also couldnt help but think about sharing the gospel with them....but, in my weakness, i didn't. My prayer now is that I might have boldness and proclaim the Glorious Gospel to whomever I may. My heart breaks for these girls, I have the cure for their disease, and I being a coward, failed to share with them the remedy. Please join me in prayer that we may be BOLD for our LORD, we need to remember that HE was BOLD for us upon the Cross....He didnt fail us, He didnt cower down when it was time to stand up and PRAIS AND HONOR BE TO THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN FOR OUR SIN....Father, I pray that we would be Bold and Courageous with your Gospel...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here are the kids and some of their friends.....we live in KIDVILLE now, which is good for the kids...

and here is another of our apartment, we live in the third story....boy, it was fun moving up here..

Here is our apartment, the kitchen, and dining/living room...its small but home for now...

Here we are, our first family picture..we are just outside of our apartment..the playground is literally our backyard...the kids love it here....
